Some Exciting News for Members

On behalf of Woody Art and Things I would like to give a big congratulations to Graham (Jeffo) for a great result from his Club Exhibition he had a couple weeks back. Graham was fortunate enough to sell two of his paintings which was wonderful but he also was commissioned later to paint a couple animal portraits for a lady. Well done mate we are all very proud of you.

Grahams paintings which he sold.

Pierre's Golf Club, Heswall Golf Club on the Wirral, last year held their first ever Arts & Crafts
Exhibition of Art Works by Members, which he assisted in the setting up. This was very successful and 18 members displayed over 75 items depicting their particular art hobby. These included paintings & prints, sculpture, ceramics, photography, textile art, embroidered art, driftwood art and jewellery.

This year, named H.G.C. Art Ex'2008, they have 28 exhibitors and the exhibition was opened Friday evening with a 'Cheese and Wine' exhibition preview with over 50 members and friends attending.

The exhibition will continue through Saturday and Sunday, 9th and 10th November.

Last year Pierre showed only giclée prints, but this year he is exhibiting 10 original paintings most of which have been featured in the Display Gallery of Woody Art and Things.

Pierre has also donated a framed giclée print of his painting 'Bride & Groom - Beach Walk at
Sunset' to the Club for a raffle prize. He was later approached by a member and his wife who asked Pierre if he could supply a framed print of the scene which they intended as a gift for their daughter who had been married recently in a beach wedding!

Pierre was on duty yesturday and will be again today and will be assisting with the dismantling of the exhibition later in the evening.

Pierre we wish both you and your club every success with the exhibition mate.

Here is a display of Pierre's work at the exhibition.

Some more exciting news happening in Marilyn side of the world.
